Daycare Vent

posted 28th Jan
ughhhh!!! So i run an at home daycare in a small town with the cheapest rates in town. My aunt and uncle bring their son 2 days a week and now after 3 weeks of them having him enrolled again (yes AGAIN! they have unenrolled him 3 times) they unenrolled him bc of the "outrageous" weekly minimum.. ($15) All my families pay this (if their child has NOT met up to $15 that week) it is in the contract they have signed every time. They want me to watch him for free practically! They are constantly making me feel like dirt! Im sick of it and probably not going to let them enroll him again. Sorry vent over!(:

They need a reality check. The minimum where I take my daughter is $90 (not at home). When I took her to an at home, that lady's minimum was $54.
They are getting a fantastic deal, and the bonus of having their son with family. Tell them good luck finding such luck anywhere else.

I wouldn't let them enroll again.

That is disruptive to the child and the rest of the kids you are watching.

That's ridiculously cheap. I work at a group daycare and we charge $190 a week for infants and like $180 for toddlers and up.

His total is usually $50 but last week he was only there 6 hours so $12 which then the minimum would kick in and they would have to pay the $15 and they FLIPPED! not joking!

I gotcha! But that is freaking ridiculous of them. That's like a little over 2 dollars an hour, and they're going to flip out over that?

Nope, I wouldn't take them back either.

I wouldn't put up with that. Tell them happy hunting something cheaper than your prices.

You could reinforce the rules by establishing a parent/daycare agreement for the amount of money being paid. On the agreement, list the day that they payment is due.
