Healing After Birth

posted 28th Jan
TMI

I was wondering how long it would take for my stitches to dissolve now that I have given birth? How long before you were back to yourself (so to speak)?

I find I have trouble physically getting up and walking. Once I am up and about I am fine, but I am in a lot of pain starting out. Is that normal? I gave birth on Thursday to an 8 lb 15oz baby.

Thanks.

Yes its normal.
Stitches dissolved around 2 weeks and that's when I started feeling like myself again minus the random painful cramps. But those went away by 3-4 weeks PP.
I gave birth to a 9lb 15oz baby boy

You'll feel better soon mama. Congrats.

Don't know how you did it? I thought 8lbs 15ozs was bad enough. But I do love that little girl of mine and wouldn't change her for the world.

My baby girl was 7lb 14oz took about 3 weeks to heal but it hurt horribly bad right after I had her. I remember having to go into walmart for something and using the scooter thing to get around because it was faster than walking.

I took about 4-6 weeks for my stitches to dissolve. It took quite a while for me to feel "normal" again but my son was 9 lb 12 oz and I think I had like 4 or 5 stitches.
