Child tax benefits.

I just have a quick question for those who recently gave birth and live in Canada.. I just filled out a form at the hospital for my child's SIN card and birth certificate. I was wondering if that form applys you for child tax benefits as well, or do you need to do a seperate form?

You have to file seperately. Also you could have done the SIN and health card and BC online, and pay with online debit. Its quicker. I got everything in the mailby the time she was 15 days old.

My friend had her baby and filled it out at the hospital her dd is 2 months and she is still waiting to get it mailed, its processed and all that, she called, its just not in yet. lol

And it says it can takew up to 3 months to get child tax, I got mine with back pay, when she was 2 months old. And you may also get universal child tax as well and extra hundred till the age of 6. Depending on your income.

ugh, i should have done it all online. i can't even make an account for child tax online cause i forgot my old postal code and i need to know it in order to make an account. i have no income, so i'm sure i'll get the universal tax. how much is it, and the regular child tax?

and wth.. the nurse at the hospital said it would only take 2 weeks, and she also said i have to go and pick it up, even though on the form it said i would be mailed it. i guess i'll be mailed the sin card, and have to go and pick up the birth certificate. such a pain in the ass!

i also filled out a piece of paper i was mailed after filling out the birth certificate/sin forms and said i wanted my son's name on my health care. how does that work?
