appt question

Ok so im 39 Weeks my dur date is January 31st today was my appt I was dilated to 2 last Monday today I was at 3 and my doc asked iif I wanted her to strip my membranes she explained what she would do and I said no because it sounded painful and she said there was only a 25-30% chance it would jump start labor..so I guess im asking who has had this done? how soon after did u go into labor? And do u think that really help jump start labor? Pain of 1-10?

I had it done with both pregnancies. My first I was in labor before my doctor appointment but it stopped so it got labor going again and my son was born that night. He was due the 30th and came out the 3rd, so a few days late or right on his schedule as I see it 

My second I had it done the day before I went into labor, the 16th. I started labor the 17th and had my baby boy at 1am on the 18th. He was due the 18th 

everyone i know who had this done went into labor within a few days im gonna ask to have it done at my next apt

Ok what about pain? How bad was it or did it just feel like labor?

Pain wise... It hurt initially but that lasted 10 minutes or less. Not long at all. It was like stubbing your toe against a rock while barefoot. That kind of sharp pain I guess is the best I can describe it.

Ugh idk what the rush is my due date isnt until the 31st why does she want to do this and if it doesnt work she wants to induce, could it be because she told me shes going out of town this weekend? If thats why shes trying to rush my labor shes crazy I hate her so much I cant wait for this to be over so I never have to deal with her again!

dont let your doctor force you to do anything. who cares of she is going out of town, she cant schedule a baby`s arrival.
