cervical cancer cells while pregnant.

So today my doctor called and asked me to come in and i saw the nurse practitioner . She said I had an abnormal pap and there were what he thought abnormal cancerous cells. They wanted to schedule me for a colposcopy, but ive never met the doctor and i wanted to ask some questions and talk to him before the procedure. I was so scared when she told me i didnt know what to do. They want to do also do a biopsy but im not even sure if that is safe. Im going to talk to him next week but i cant help but be worried as my grandmother died from breast cancer. I couldn't imagine leaving my son with no mother and not getting to see him grow up. Nothing is for sure yet and im trying not to be stressed out but the whole thing scares the crap out of me. Is there anyone that had a similar situation and everything was fine?

I'd wait til after pregnancy. Pregnancy can CAUSE abnormal cells. Did for me! In lost the baby I carried when i let them do a colpo during pregnancy. Never again.

I had a scare a few years ago and everything ended up coming back normal. Also my mom had cervical cancer and ended up cancer free after a few procedures. She now has had a hysterectomy but they were years a part and for different reasons.

My step mom had cervical cancer, she found out while she was pregnant with her youngest. She had a healthy pregnancy and got it treated shortly after giving birth. You will be okay just stay calm. Don't do the procedure while pregnant.

Before i got pregnant i had a abnormal pap & it was cancerous cells. I was so scared. But honestly its not that big of a deal my mom & bestfriend also had it. I would wait until after birth to do anything. & Ive also heard pregnancy can cause abnormal cells. You should be fine. This lady that worked with my mom said she had cancerous cells on her cevix for over 8 years cause she couldn't afford treatment for it.
