Question about start birth control??

I am getting on the mini pill. I will be 6 weeks pp on Thursday. That is the day before my follow up and Friday is also the day my hubby gets home from out of town. So sex will be in the picture if I get the go ahead from my doctor. So obviously that is at the end of week and I haven't even started birth control.. I want to start taking it now but the birth control package insert states that if you are ebf you can start at 6weeks and if you breastfeed along with supplementing you can start at 3weeks? I am ebf and I want to get the pill in my system.. Not sure how long you have to use protecting before it is effective and also would it hurt anything if I start a few days earlier than the instructions say?? Hope this makes sense.

I started the mini-pill as soon as I got the script filled. So...kid was 4 days old? Doc didn't tell me to wait to start taking it, said I could start right away. And she was EBF for 3-4 months

Okay cool. My doctor didnt say anything either but I read the package inserts a lot so yeah, that's what the package insert said.

Did you deliver on base, or have a civilian doc?

On base, non civilian midwive.

I had a civilian doc. I know every doc is different with what they advise, so I don't know. But I didn't have any problems starting it right away
We're at Le Juene. Well, DH is stationed there, we live less than a mile from the Cherry Point flight line.

You are supposed to wait because it can cause issues with your supply while its still regulating. I used condom back up for 2 weeks after starting the mini pill.
