16. pregnant?

posted 28th Jan
Okay i really need to vent. I had unprotected sex on January 19th. I had my period about 2 weeks before that.

Its now January 28th.

I am really really scared i am pregnant. Obviously i know its only 9 days after sex but i hope i can get a blood test and it would be accurate.

My mom called to get a blood test done but in the state of California if your over 12 I had to consent to it. so i called and consented and i am getting the test done tonight.

I am so scared. I am going to get the depo shot if i am not but i HOPE and PRAY i am not. I can't be a mother my boyfriend can't be a father. I just need positive vibes and such.

Anyone get a blood test 9 days after sex and it was accurate?

Well good luck to you and let this be a lesson learned, however it turns out.

Well, you have options. You can have an abortion, you can give the baby up for adoption, or you can even take a stab at parenting.

At 9 days post sex, a blood test may not be accurate. It can take the egg 12-14 days to implant.

Chances are it won't be accurate until closer to your missed period. In which case a HPT is cheaper.

I just hope I'm not. I know it happens on the first time but i just hope i am lucky and can get on birth control and learn from this.

I think it's good you told you mum. Now she can support you with whatever choice you make, and before you know dr sure if you are pregnant or not she has a bit of time to wrap her head about it.
Good luck.

I would just wait it out. It's silly to get a blood draw for no reason.

Good luck, I hope you're not pregnant but if you are please consider all your options. Teen pregnancy does not have to result in teen parenthood.

And I'm glad you're taking action to protect yourself in the future but I hope you're aware that depo needs to be repeated every three months to be effective. And I think you can only be on it for two years consecutively.
