What camera do you use?

posted 28th Jan
I think I'm going to buy a photography camera soon. I just want to use it for the kids nothing to fancy. What's the best camera for a reasonable price?

You dont buy a 'photography' camera. You learn photography.
You can produce pleasant images with any camera if you know what you're doing.

That being said, I have a Nikon D7000 with a 50mm 1.8 lens and a 35mm 1.8 lens.

My digital doesn't snap fast enough. My kids are a blur in them.

If you don't know how to use the "professional" camera they can still come out blurry.

The majority of current entry level DSLRs are pretty similar. I personally recommend Canon over Nikon because of Nikon's weird autofocus motor thing, but I really suggest you go and handle several and see which you like best. I'd probably stick with a Canon or Nikon over other brands, because they have the largest selection of after market items, if you plan on growing and learning photography.

I'm just looking for a beginner camera. Something to play around with. I'm not trying to take professional pics.

Okay. Do you know whether you want a DSLR or an advances point and shoot?

All I'm trying to say is, whichever you get you're going yo need to actually learn how to use it, or your photos won't turn out any better.

I don't have any plans yet. That's why I came on here to see what people suggested. And if I spend the money I plan on learning how to use it.

I have a Cannon G12. I like it because the micro setting is really good on it. The objects I take pictures of are small, and have a lot of detail needing to pop out. It may depend on what you want to take pictures of.
