reason why babies are born preemie!?!

Ok so I had my baby at 36wks which is still consider preemie...
My cousin is expecting her first baby and she's always asking me questions about if what she's feeling is normal & so on..
But one of aunt told her not to ask me anymore because if not her baby is going to come out early & that its my fault my daughter was born a month early   is it really my fault? I was doing everything right. Eating healthy, walking & going to my appointments and everything seemed fine.

Your little one was most likely just ready to make her grand appearance. And 36 weeks isn't all that bad. Its only 1 week out from term.

It's not your fault, babies are born early for all sorts of reason's, 36 weeks isn't that bad anyway.

I don't think its your fault. Some things happen that are out of our control. Don't let her place the blame on you. My aunt told me that my miscarriage was because I didn't diet and was too fat, which was neither reason I had a MC. Some people are just mean.

There's lots of reasons babies are born prematurely, including times when the mother is at fault (drinking, drugs). You were healthy, your baby was probably just ready. Sometimes it's other medical reasons that doctors usually look for when baby is born. Tell your aunt to shut it

Thank you for the replies. She really thinks its my fault my baby came out early because all the babies in my family are born really close to their due date and mine was a month early. But my baby is healthy she eats like a normal baby and everything theirs nothing wrong with her. Her Dr even said my baby is a long(tall) baby for being born early she was born being 20in

My mother had 5 kids...we were ALL born a month early, according to her. So far, all of my kids have been born early(or tried to be, I had interventions with my daughter that helped her stay in until she was term).

The hospital I went to considered 36 weeks as term. My friend had her LO at 35 weeks and she was perfect and nothing was wrong with her at all.

That's ridiculous...nobody actually knows what triggers a woman to go into labor, or why anybody goes into labor when they do. It's not something you have any control over...your aunt is just ignorant. Even the things women do to "self-induce" don't have any effect unless the baby is ready to come out anyway.

I would be furious with your aunt she is so wrong! I hope you know that 36 weeks IS considered term and i hope your baby was OK, obv i dont know you x My DD was 11 days over and i had three sweeps and did EVERYTHING my MW advised to help things along because I was 1cm and contracting since my EDD so no even if you tried you couldnt have caused it.

i was dehydrated and that is why she came early.. i have a 29 weeker who is a healthy well adjusted 1 year old.

I cant stand people who say that....and most who do say it from ignorance....the only way you can make a preemie is if you went to a dr. and had an induction or csection that early on pupose with no medical reasoning which is damn near impossible ....ignore that dumb ass comment that was made clearly your friend is being influenced by a bad example and even from you should know to take all baby advice with a grain of salt just because every baby is different that was wrong tho of that mom to not only say that but scare this girl like that when she clearly is just wanting support and comfort from a good friend like you
