im just going to get to the point....So my daughter was born with a c section.... and the hospital said she had swallowed some malconuim or babys first poop.... so she had been spitting up and choking and one time she turned blue and the nurse took her to the neo natal care room and a few minutes later me and my SO went down to see her and she had a needle in her head and a tube in her nose..... then she had a tube down her throat ... she kept spitting up and her vitals went down a couple times after they put the tube down her nose and i guess oxygen got in her belly and made it big ..... that made things worse and her pediatrician didnt even get a xray to see what went on so they just sent her to a better hospital that has a better neo natal until and right away there was a doctor that gave her a xray and knew exactly what had happened to her and she got better there as the days went on.... my question is ....is there a lawsuit against the other hospital for them putting that tube down her nose and causing her stomach to get like that and not knowing what was wrong and not getting a xray taken??? what should we do just curious cuz my parents want us to sue them

Well, I mean it sounds like they were doing anything possible to save the life of your child... If she was choking and smurf, they probably didn't have time for an x-ray.

There's really no reason to sue. They were trying to save her life, and when they realized they couldn't handle the job they sent her somewhere that could give better care.

The tube up the nose, went down her throat as well, that was most likely for a feeding tube.

I do not think you have a case at all, thats what they do for all babies that are put in the NICU.

..they probably didn't have time for an xray ..she's fine now right? I wouldn't sue. They were doing what they could to save your daughter's life..

I hate this sue happy smurf (no offense to you OP). But you do realize that whether you have a valid case or not, it costs the hospital money and reputation - hardly fair for something not worthy.

That's pretty normal newb behavior. All 3 of my children have done that in their sleep.

me and my SO dont want to sue i was just asking if i even had a case cuz im sick of my parents naggin me about it
