anyone have their membranes swept?

posted 28th Jan
And did it work to kick start labor? I had it done today so I'm really hoping it'll do something so I can go into labor naturally because I did decide to keep my appointment to be induced Wednesday... They told me that first they're going to break my water and wait and see if that does anything, which they think it will because I'm 3 cm dilated now and her head is right there. Is there anything else I can do to help bring labor on that has seemed to work before? Besides sex because I don't think we will get a chance to.

I got mine done 3 times(40 weeks, 40+3 and 49+6) at the 40 week and 40+3 weeks I was only 1 cm dilated. At the 40+6 I was 3 and it worked for me. I got my bloody show and was admitted 4 hours later. Good luck

Yes, at 37 weeks and 38 weeks.

It didnt work and I am glad it didnt.

It was painful as all get out ((not so much the act, but afterwards)) and caused me horrible cramps radiating to my knees.

I haven't, but being 3cm and her head there, I'm guessing you were on the verge of labor anyway!

It worked with my first not with my second. Stay active. Try lots of walking, squats, masturbate if sex isnt an option. Nipple stimulation pump if you have one. Bounce on a ball.

What works the best and this sounds weird but nipple simulation, play with your nipples every 20 min. They cause your uterus to contract. They even tell you to do it at the hospital too. Walking, during castor oil, during primrose oil on your cervix causes your cervix to thin, exercising, etc.

Don't do castor oil unless directed by a doctor.

Castor oil is just stupid and can be very dangerous especially when taken without the knowledge of the doctor.

Theres also several articles saying castor oil has absolutely no connection to the cervix it just goes straight to your butt... And it could cause baby to make bm while still in the womb which is also a big no no, dont get me wrong im deff. Not against castor oil especially because its your body and ur baby just thought I would let u know what I've read about it..

My mom says the nipple simulation, I wasn't moving when I was in my moms stomach and she had to do the nipple simulation. and the hospital told her to do it and caused her to have contractions which wasn't what they wanted but it is what happens. Try the nipple simulation.
