Uhm.....that doesnt matter. Its not like a landlord can move in with a tenant and there is no recourse.

Either never ever leave her alone with your kids or move out.

I would tell her that if she lays one finger on my kid I will physically kick her out.
I wouldn't tolerate her yelling and swearing at my child either, as emotional abuse is just as bad, IMO.

It's illegal to spank in my country so I have the option of threatening people with the police. Hell yes I would flip out if someone threatened to hit my kid.

If my mother was living with me and said that I would tell her that she better find a big ol patch of comfy bench at the park cos the second she touches my child in anger she's gone. No second chances, nothing. Straight out gone.

thanks for all of the replies. I agree with all of you who said her behaviour is unacceptable. she came to me to apologize and said that she would never actually hit my child, but then went on to justify why she said it so I stopped her and I called her out on everything she's been doing.
she says she's stressed and she'll try to handle things differently and leave the disciplining up to me and my SO.
I'm still pretty irked, but we'll see if she smartens up.
