Quoting K&T:" wtf.. i thought I was right when I spelled it breed... but my computer said it was spelled wrong.. strange.. ... [snip!] ... I agree though, I think it's all about the owner. Any dog has the ability to be dangerous if it raised for the wrong reasons. "

Yes, that's true.

But pits are pure muscle, some dogs are just puddles of mush that bark at you.

I will admit that as much as I like pits, I have been scared by a few, based on their behavior.

To answer your questions though, I love pits. I had one, and she was an amazing dog. Extremely smart and sweet. Never barked. Thought she was a lap dog when she was 70 lbs. Wonderful with my son.

My sister has two (one male and one female). They generally keep the girl in the cage because she is still a puppy and gets too excited around the baby (my nephew is almost 14months). But the way he kicks their ass it makes me nervous sometimes that he will hurt them and they will bite out of pain.

Any dog can be aggresive or attack. It is all about the person behind the dog, not the breed itself.

I think they are a wonderful dog is trained the proper way with the right type of person. I also think they are extremely overbred and should be spayed/neutered. In the pounds around here there are hundreds of Pitbulls being euthanized every day.

But in all seriousness, I love the breed. My best friend has a female and she is the sweetest dog ever.
It's not the dog itself its the owner and how it's raised.
I hate how Pitts always get a bad rap.

I work as a tech at a vet hospital. I would much rather deal with ANY Pit then most Chihuahuas or Daschunds or Lhasa Apsos. And I am not a fan of nutty GSD's either.
