Freaks about noises & when wet/dirty?
posted 28th Jan
Lately noises and him being wet or 'dirty' FREAKS him out.
Certain noises used to bother him but recently the sound of our processor crushing ice freaks him out. He runs out of the room and if he's in bed all the way across the house he yells "Gaga! Stop dat noise!" and even our alarm clock bothers him. He gets up and takes the battery out calling it a "noisy clock".
If he spills just a drop of water on his clothes he freaks out saying he's wet and has to have it off right then. Same with being dirty. He runs to the sink and hollers "I dirty. Clean meeee" Surprisingly he is okay with playing with the cornstarch/water mix but generally he doesn't handle being wet/dirty very well.
Do all kids go through this?

Im not sure but Presten is still afraid of the vacuum cleaner and if his hands get dirty he freeeeaks out and needs them to be washed right away.

Not all kids but some do. My son hated noises until he was about 3 or 4, everything i did terrified him vacuuming, blender, hair dryer and pretty much anything that was electric. And my nephew cried if he got dirty or wet until he was 2, his 1st birthday ended with a melt down when we put his hand in his cake but once we cleaned him he was happy again. Its a phase and he will get past it. Just takes time.

Ethan definitely went through that. He has always been terrified of the blow dryer. Like if I turn it on, he will go running. He's been that way since he was a baby, and he's 4 1/2 now.
He likes to get dirty now, but he went through a phase between 2 and about 3 1/2 where he hated it. Like we took him to the park once and it had sand under the equipment. When he fell and got sand on his hands, he flipped out. Seriously. It made our first trip to the beach super lame lol. He still doesn't like sand, but he does like to stomp in puddles. He just doesn't like the dirty actually on his skin.
