I want to make something yummy

posted 28th Jan
anything.. an appetizer. dinner, something.

i was thinking of trying a "crab ragoon dip"

or making some buffalo chicken dip I used to make with boiled in chicken broth chicken breast, shredded, and then i add cream cheese, franks red hot, butter and shredded sharp cheese. people love that smurf at get togethers.

I also thought about making "frito pie"
my mom used to make chili and then you serve it on top of chili cheese fritos and top with cheese and and sour cream.

I really think I want some sort of "dip". got any recipes? a warm dip perferably.

It's not a warm dip but

5 fresh jalapenos chopped
2 cans of chopped olives
2 cups of Colby jack cheese
1 package of veggie dip (the dry stuff that can also be made into soup)
1 16 oz thing of sour cream (I always end up adding a tad more though)

Just mix it all together and its super yummy.

Or cheese dip

1 package of Velveeta
1 lb ground beef (cooked)
2 cans Rotel or 1 jar salsa
1 avocado

Put all ingredients into crock pot and let melt. Top with sour cream.

It's so good. The bottom stays kinda dense making it easy to scoop up. I eat it with fritos scoops bc they give maximum dip ability lol

Skyline dip! But since you aren't around Cincinnati I guess it would be just... chili dip?

Spread cream cheese on the bottom of a baking dish. Top that with chili (Cincinnati style, usually, so that thin kinda runny stuff... but regular thick chili would probably be even better). Top that with shredded cheese. Pop it in the oven until cheese is melted, and I've always had it with tortilla chips.

My Famous Crab Dip

Served on warm, sliced french bread

Ingredients:
1 package cream cheese (room temp)
1 lb crab or imitation crab meat (pulled apart into flakes)
1 pint 1/2 & 1/2
1 cup milk
1/2 stick unsalted butter
2 tbs flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp coarse black pepper
2 tsp cayenne (really to taste, but it gets warmer when you bake it)

Directions:

Start with a roux. Melt 1/2 stick butter over medium heat in stock pot. After butter is melted add 2 tbs of flour to make a thick paste. Let paste cook for about 30 sec. and then add cream cheese at room temp. Slowly add 1/2 & 1/2 and milk until a creamy consistency. Add salt, pepper and cayenne. Then stir in flaked crab meat. After a few good stirs, pour into a glass baking dish that is sprayed with pam lightly. Bake at 375 for 35min. Let stand for about 5 min to cool, then serve on warm french bread.

MMMMMMM.... this is my fave
