Anxiety?

posted 28th Jan
If you suffer from anxiety, can you tell me what it's like for you? Recently I've been getting really dizzy, tachycardic (heart racing), flushed and short of breath. I saw a NP and went to the ER for the symptoms, and every single one of my tests (blood count, thyroid, EKG, blood pressure, blood sugar) has come back clear. No one knows what's wrong with me. Only thing I can come up with is anxiety. Funny thing is, it's worse on the days I have to work. Odd?

Sounds just like my anxiety attacks.

Yeah? My HR was 110 today, and it's typically between 60-70. I hate feeling this way.

Sounds like anxiety attacks. And it isn't really that odd that it would be more prevalent on days you work. The stress of your job can heighten it.

Sounds like it.

I always hyperventilate when I have a panic attack.

If you have that feeling again, try to take 3 nice deep breaths. If you can get some water and sit down. Sometimes chamomile tea will help if the anxiety/panic attack hasn't reached a point where I can't control it.

I have nocturnal panic attacks as well as having the through the day.
I get dizzy, and feel tingly all over, almost like parts of my body are falling asleep. I start to hyperventilate, and my heart starts pounding, and if it gets bad enough I'll get tunnel vision.

I started a new job that I love and that has helped, but I'm also on paxil daily, and have a PRN for xanax.

Nothing seems to help. I try to relax and drink water, but then I get short of breath and feel like I can't even swallow.

I seriously think I need a new job, but my DH is against the idea.

I'd look around. It's worth it to at least look. Even though I'm happy with my job I'm always looking at more. You never know what's going to happen, you know?
