So i went to the hospital last night cause i was in MAJOR pain while working, she did and internal exam and said i am a fingertip dilated on the outside but closed on the inside. What does that mean? I am currently 29 weeks pregnant.

It means.... you still have 11 weeks left.

It basically means your closed. The inside is what has to open for baby to be born.

I have never heard of that either, but your doc doesnt sound concerned with it, so I wouldnt worry to much.

There's an internal OS and an external OS. (inner part of the cervix and outer). The inner part is the important part. It might mean that you dilate faster though to the dilation of the outer OS if you start dilating, or it could mean nothing at all. I didn't look at your info, but it can be normal and even expected if you've had a couple of children or a lot of procedures where they dilated your cervix for some reason.
It's tricky because a certain amount of change is normal starting at 28 weeks. The rule for going in and/or calling your ob is 4 to 6 contractions per hour. It might also feel like cramping, or like you have to pee, but can't. My early contractions always feel like a UTI with the pressure and the urge to pee constantly, but it doesn't burn. If you have any weird, bloody or watery discharge, you also need to let them know.

Same here. My cervix is dilating like a funnel/ Open on outside only 2cm on inside.
