Breastfeeding and Sex Drive

I've been reading stuff online about how alot of moms have a decreased sex drive while breastfeeding. Asher will be 4 months old on the 30th, and we've only had sex twice. Only because I don't want Mike to feel deprived...I'm just not in the mood. lol I've also read that male lions will sometimes eat their young, so that the mother will stop nursing and go back into heat. Although Mike has assured me that this will not happen.

Any other BF moms experiencing zero sex drive?

Lol, this gave me a good laugh   Anyways, I EBF my son. He was born in December. I have a harder time getting in the mood. I definitely think it has a lot to do with breastfeeding.

I breastfed for a year...it wasnt until like month 9 that I found out that it causes low sex drive. I was happy to find out there was a reason at least....cause yes, my sex drive went 0.

With the upcoming baby, and now knowing why, I hope we can work together this time so that it doesnt happen.

Well dang. I'm must say I'm jealous!

Yes I EBF my daughter who is almost 10 months old and before I had her I wanted sex all the time, like 4 or 5 times a week at least. Now we are doing good if its 1 every other week if not less than that. My husband thinks that it is him but it isn't I just have no desire   Hopefully it will improve after baby is weaned which still won't be for probably another 8 months or so

Yep. No sex drive over here. I've been bfing for 15 months...you don't even know wanna know how little we've had sex. I give a lot of bjs to make up for it

Yeah I'm not planning on weaning Asher anytime soon. I told him what all I've read so he understands. I just told him that we both need to work on being pervs towards eachother or something.

I've been breastfeeding almost 8 months and I, too, have absolutely no sex drive. It's normal from what I've read, so don't feel bad. Our poor men! I still have sec with him a couple times a week though.

I don't think it is the breastfeeding itself that is causing lack of sex drive. I think it is just being exhausted and tired from getting up with baby. My son is almost 13 months old and we are still breastfeeding. He still gets up like 2 or 3 times a night. I get in the mood but I am to tired to pursue anything! LOL

No, for me it was breastfeeding for sure. My son was always a great sleeper. By months 6 and up he slept all night and I was getting good sleep.

lol! Well we have a daughter in Prek, and Asher co sleeps with us, so he doesn't even fully wake up, but will jsut start stirring around, I'll pop a boob in, he gets full and goes back to sleep. Then usually after we take Addison to school at 8, me and him come back and go to bed till around 12ish. I am tired, but not like super exhausted. But I do think if I had the opportunity, I could sleep for a straight 24 hours. lol
