Milk

posted 28th Jan
Once your baby's were off formula what kind of milk, if you gave them milk at all, did you give them to drink?

My son is a long ways from getting anything but breastmilk, but I was just curious.

I've been reading up on it some and have decided to buy almond milk for the house hold (Adria rarely drinks milk anyway) and my mom thinks I'm nuts lol.

What do you do?

around a year my girls went to whole milk. my oldest is on 2% now but my youngest is still on whole milk because she is so small..pedi said its better for her..our youngest is 2.5 and weighs 26lbs..she eats all the time but she just doesn't gain well..we still wears 24m clothing..I think it depends on the child what kind of milk you use.

we did cows milk. For us it was more convenient price and cooking wise

My first drank whole milk but my second drank vanilla almond milk. He hates cow's milk.

We did whole milk for 6-10 months afterwards.
My son started having issues with it, so we switched to 1% milk around 18-20 months somewhere. No issues ever since then.

Our oldest two were formula babies and I switched them to cow's milk at a year/15 months. Our youngest is ebf and when she weans (BLW) I'll be switching over to almond completely. We only like the vanilla kind but if we get the original then it can still be using in cooking/etc. I had to drink soy my entire pregnancy because cow's milk made me sick and even now, it's hard for me to drink more than what's at the bottom of my cereal bowl. So the sooner we switch, the happier I'll be.

My doctor said they want them on Whole Milk unless otherwise necessary. My one year old drinks soy because the doctor told me to give that to her because she gets explosive poop after drinking whole milk.
