I'd get rid of all the water

And you know that once a baby sucks on the bottle, it cannot go back in the fridge? Same with feeding them from a jar. Once his mouth touches it, it has to be discarded.

I don't feed from the jar. I make his food myself, using a food processor. Put the amount needed for his feeding in a small bowl and mix it with his rice cereal and formula. When mixed, what he doesn't eat goes to the dog or in the garbage. But whats in the jar, can and does get saved. That I do know because I looked that up myself many times on many different sites. The jar food from stores, you can actually open in the morning and use it for meals throughout the day as long as you don't mix it with cereal, milk, or formula. It says on the jar to discard if opened for 24 hours. Unless you want to throw away money on jars for just one feeding only to toss it out when your kid only takes a few bites.

It isn't about the jar. You are doing it right. You're supposed to put the jar food in a bowl, so that the spoon doesn't contaminate the whole jar.

But if you make a 4 oz bottle, and the kid only eats 2 oz, you need to throw the rest of that formula out.

I still think you should eliminate the water.

In fact, I think a feeding schedule for any baby is a little ridiculous, and not very practical. I also think it's unrealistic to expect a (not even) 2 month old to sleep through the night. You were very fortunate with your first baby, but you can't expect your son to follow in the same footsteps.

There's nothing wrong with your baby, OP. Some kids have bigger appetites than others and need more formula. If he wakes up during the night to eat then give him a bottle.

He would sleep all night in his crib... Never had a problem, but he started pulling himself up, and I knew where that was headed, didn't feel like cleaning doodle brains out of the carpet,
He even goes to his bed and pulls the bed tent closed to take naps during day, but he thinks it's party time come 2 am lol
