Anything that has hormones can make you gain weight. The only nonhormonal one I know of is the copper paraguard IUD

I am getting the Paraguard put back in next week, never had any problems with weight while I had it in

Paraguard is your only non hormonal option and very effective. My advice is not to worry so much about what SO thinks and get whatever you and your doctor determine is right for you. You can always change if it doesn't work out. SO sounds "lovely" btw.

He is lovely even though I sense a tad bit of sarcasm lol. Everyone I know gained weight while on BC and I have a muscle disorder and I cant work out or do anything that will weaken me. He is just looking out for me because I talk about my weight now.

I never looked into IUD. SOmeone told me it hurts like hell and you can feel it in there

You can't feel it... It only hurts going in and hurts a lot less than having a baby lol

Or maybe you can feel the strings? Idk, my husband never said anything

I couldn't feel mine when they put it in or took it out. However, I will be honest and tell you I was miserable the entire time that I had it in (8 months.) I had cramps all the time and my periods were like a faucet. But as with any BC it just depends on the person. What is right for someone isn't going to be right for someone else.

My cycles are 3-4 days long and I only cramp right before I start. I just read up on IUD and I would hate for it to make my cycle worse since mine arnt as bad as most.

lol I have a high pain tolerance so thats nothing for me but I would take some pain killers too haha

i was on the implonon for the full three years...i never really got a period and i had now issues with weight or anything i loved it....i wasnt not using any other kind of bc and i never had a scare its greqt

Don't be scared of gaining weight with other Birth Controls, either. The average weight gain is 12 pounds in 3 years. That's only 1/3 a month, so hardly anything.
