carpal tunnel wrist brace?

okay so i have carpal tunnel in both wrists and need to wear a brace until my next dr appointment. am I supposed to wear it as tight as possible without my hands turning purple? or do i want it kinda loose?
is it okay if it makes marks on my arms or is that too tight?

Tight enough to stabilize your wrist, but loose enough to not cut off circulation. You might get marks from the compression, but they should be bad.

You want it to be snug but not so tight that it turns your hands purple. I always had marks on my hands from the brace but they weren't too bad. If you have no marks at all, I'd say it's too loose.

okay so it isn't bad if i have little indents then? SO was saying it's too tight but what does he know lol

I don't wear mine tight at all, if it's too tight my hands feel like they are going to fall off. The braces do leave marks on my hands.

I only wear them to sleep, because I have a terrible habit of sleep on my hands, contorting them into weird positions, and I can't bare to have them on any other time, even though I really should.

i just founf out last tuesday and was told to wear them every day all day (except showers) to see if it helped so far they aren't any better.

Is it custom fitted? Or just a standard store brace?

I work with my hands, as my job (pet groomer), it would immobilize them too much, and I wouldn't be able to work. I'm suppose to wear them when I'm not working, buuuttt I never do, because my hands hurt worse.

both my wrists were fitted for one, at the doctor.
