need help carving rice krispy treats
posted 27th Jan
I've heard that leaving out the butter in the recipe makes it better for carving things. Also grinding up the cereal.
Question. Should I mold it while its warm, cool it and then carve it?
Can I mold it with my hands, or do I need something to stuff it in?
I never made them before and my daughters party is on Tuesday, so I don't really have tim for tial and error. Any input would help. Thanks!

using butter wouldnt make it harder unless you put it in the fridge.
Molding them would be easier while still warm, I would butter my hands first thoug or you'll stick to it. If you are using a knife to cut them, put it in very very hot water first, it'll slice through it easily

Thanks!
So do you mean using the butter would make them harder or without?

The only way butter would make them harder is if you refrigerated them before molding/shaping/cutting. Cold butter is hard, that's how it usually works

ok sorry for all the questions but do u think it would be even harder if I omitted the butter or decreased it, and just the marshmellows would make it super hard?

Yes, and it would change the taste drastically to remove one of the few ingredients ;)

Thank you for ur help! I want it to be edible so I won't remove the butter completely.
