No weight gain at 16 weeks
posted 27th Jan
I'm 16 weeks 3 days pregnant with our first baby together and I haven't gained anything at all. I lost 10 pounds in my first trimester and now I am pretty much staying around the same weight now, which isn't over the weight I started at when I found out I was pregnant. I take it day by day but there is no way I can eat "for two" like most people speak of during pregnacy. I feel ok and eat fairly well some days and others I find all food completely repulsive. I have read about people gaining from 10 pounds the whole pregnancy to 60 and 70 pounds. Will the Dr. order an ultrasound to make sure the baby is ok if I gain under 20 pounds recommended gain?

I didn't gain any weight until 18 weeks with one o my pregnancies. There's no such thing as "eating for 2" normally you'd only ingest 300 extra calories. You're fine, don't worry about your weight gain. My friend only gained 6lbs her entire pregnancy and her son was a healthy 6lbs baby.

With DD2 and DS2 I didn't gain anything until I was in my 36 and 35 weeks. In the beginning I lost and everytime I was weighed nothing. I didn't overeat I just ate very healthy. They were just fine and born weighing 7.7 lbs and 8.8 lbs. I was back in my regular clothes 11 days after my 8.8 pounder! Don't worry as long as you're eating healthy no need to stuff yourself as eating for two is a myth.

with my 1st I gained 67 lbs. with my 2nd I gained 33 lbs. I am currently 18 weeks 2 days and have lost 8 lbs. Every pregnancy is different. My doc says if you're over weight it's healthier to not gain weight but to just maintain healthy eating habits. If you're at good weight 15-25 lbs is recommended but it's not an "official" goal.

Everything will be fine as long as you're eating and drinking enough, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't start gaining weight with this pregnancy until I was like 25 weeks.

I am 24 weeks and I have only gained 5lbs. I have not lost any but not really gaining either. I also workout 3 days a week and work as a vet tech the other 3 days. I try to eat healthy most the time but do give in to cravings. I wasn't a skinny girl from the get go but not extremely overweight. My dr has not mentioned one thing to me about my weight and my son is healthy. He is actually measuring 2 weeks ahead. So as long as you are staying healthy I do not think there is a problem.

Hi and Congrats. Im 17 weeks tomorrow and I havent gained anything yet. However Im plus size and my Doctor said she would prefer for me not to gain 25 pounds so at every appt I ask did I gain too much but nothing so far so its ok. Baby is fine, pregnancy is great. As long as everything is progressing ok, try not to worry. I know how hard that can be but try!! Congrats again.

I didn't gain wait until 20 weeks and if you are within a normal weight range you are only suppose to gain about 251bs. I you were overweight then you would be expected to gain much less. And you are not suppose to eat for two...you are only suppose to consume a few hundred more calories a day and that is mainly for you energy and to replace some nutrients.

I'm of healthy weight. I workout 4-5 days a week. And drink lots of water.
I'm not so worried now that I see others with the same occurrences!
