I don't know, I only have two, but I still nurse both of them and have been nursing for the past 4 years, and pregnant or nursing for 5, or pregnant and nursing >.< fml I am so ready for my body to be mine

One usually wakes up a few min before the second one, so when Zackory (always wakes first) wakes up, I bring him to my bed and try to feed him, he takes a drink and then laughs and smiles at me, tries to rip my face off, pulls my hair, talks and laughs some more. Jackson starts to whimper and we start all over, lol.

Maybe I read that wrong, but it sounds like that Mama only gives her 6 month old one bottle a day...

I hope not. It makes me mad that pedi's mislead people about baby food and lead them to believe its supposed to help make up their nutritional intake. Food before a year is for fun and learning, not for nutrition.

LOL No she gets bottles with all of her baby food too. Just the afternoon feeding is a bottle only, unless she won't take the bottle then we give her food too.

She still gets around 22-30 oz of formula a day too.

I used to have my twins on a scheduled feed but it fell through when they were younger they just weren't getting enough so now there on demand feeds and have baby food throughout the day but I always give them a bottle before bed and they sleep all night..a warm bottle and warm bath before bed might do the trick

I honestly can't imagine having to put my child on an eating schedule   When they're hungry let'em eat lol But then again, I didn't have twins. I have 5, 4 and 4 1/2 months so my first two are more or less twins in my book. 20lb at 6 months actually sounds normal, I'm surprised your doctor has said anything about it. My almost 5 month old is EBF and weighs a little over 16lb. But I'm almost positive both of my oldest two were close to 20lb by 6 months if not over and they were formula babies. I will say though, "sleeping through the night" is only meant for 8-10 hours so if babies go to bed early, they're going to wake up early. Especially at 6 and 9 months when they go through a big growth spurt. They aren't supposed to STTN until after 1 and even then, it's not guaranteed until 2. I get your exhaustion, I'm living it too, but you can't force a baby to sleep if they don't want to.

I would get up with them, offer them water (they may not drink it), keep the lights dim and let them play it out. I did this closer to nine months with my daughter but she eventually stopped waking for that early morning (or late night) feed. I'd have to rock her a bit though to get her back to feeling sleepy, not sure how that works with two... She still got up super early but she was sleeping from 7pm - 5 or 6 am.. I would just grab her and nurse her then in bed and we'd both go back to sleep for a bit.

Quoting Tricia♥ [+4Boys]:" Its a biggie. Feeding them both means I am up for an hour and a half. And they usually only take an ounce or 2 and don't want anything to do with it after that."

So you would rather make your kids be hungry than miss out on an hour and a half of sleep? Seriously??????? I still get up in the middle of the night with my 2 year old and that can be for up to 3 hrs because she will be up coughing.

Solid intake should be complementary to breast milk/formula intake. I've started early and delayed and I've learned that food before a year can sometimes make a big difference in later eating habits.
For me, starting early has helped with my supply too, I even supplement earlier at 4 months with breast milk and a bit of cereal on a spoon. As soon as I start a bit of solids I am able to feel more full and give my baby feedings that he feels satisfied with and not searching for milk when there is not much there. It gives my body a chance to re-stock, so to speak, lol. Sure it spaces out feedings, but there is not much difference giving him 2 ounces every 1-2 hours or 4 ounces every 3- 4 hours. They still cluster feed of course during growth spurts but you really don't have to have your baby on the boob all day to keep up a good supply. It's almost like women are afraid to offer their babies anything for fear of losing their milk. It's food! A little bit here and there is not detrimental and can make a world of difference for the better in your little ones behaviour.

It might be normal. Around the same age, my girls started waking again for an extra bottle around 5am. They would take around 4 oz though. It only lasted about 4 days in a row though, so I assume it was a growth spurt. They went back to sleeping through the night again.
Try adding an extra ounce of formula to the last feed. Mine take four 6 oz bottles and then one 7 oz bottle just before bed and have taken that larger bedtime bottle since about 6 months.
If mine do, on the off chance, wake up during the night now, I always try to feed them as a last resort. I usually just re-start their sleep sheep and sneak out again. Usually they will fall back asleep within 30 mins. They don't usually cry, just chatter for that time so I don't worry about them.
