at what week is it okay...

To labor at home. I'm 34 week s and having a ton of pressure in my vag and butt. I'm having contractions but nothing I can time. The doctor said to come in when there 10mins apart and they aren't but this pressure is killer. They wont stop labor if I go in so yea .. when is it okay to labor at home?

They won't stop labor at 34 weeks?!

I wouldnt until about 38 weeks. 37 weeks is the earliest I would even consider it since thats term. Anything under 37 is a preemie and they might need immediate medical attention.

They should stop labor before 36/37 weeks.

I'm pretty sure your doctor will stop your labor at 34 weeks.

I have heart issues so that might be the reason

Yes definitely need to be at a hospital. 34 weeks its way to early. Your baby will probably need immediate medical attention!

You have heart problems and you would have a preemie and you're actually contemplating laboring unassisted  

I would be pissed if my doctor dint try to stop it and if u have problems you should be there getting shots to mature lungs or whatever they do to prep a baby you might have a healthy baby or the baby might be in nicu for awhile with some problems hopefully its not real labor and u wait it out til atleast 37 weeks

My docs wouldn't stop at 34 weeks, but They also moved me to a nicu.

My hospital wouldnt do shots after 35 weeks they basically said it wasnt worth the risk. Luckily I didnt go into active labor at 35 weeks but had I they wouldnt of stopped it either. The first hospital I was at would try and stop it all the way to 36 weeks 6 days. I got terbutaline (sp) at 35 weeks and that smurf was horrible. Both mine and the babies heart rate sky rocketed and they couldnt even finish giving me the meds. Sometimes its safer to let the baby come then to pump mom full of meds.
