I know I'm getting annoying but I need answers.

This is gonna be another parvo related topic so please bare with me.

I have two dogs. One who caught parvo and the other who didn't. How do I make sure she doesn't get it?..where she's at right now has been bleached from top to bottom..but the thing is, they've been in the same environment until yesterday. she's only 8 months old and has had her first set of shots including the parvo shot..if she was going to get it wouldn't she have shown signs by now?....I know he's depressed today but she's not acting out of the ordinary and our dog who had parvo was acting differently for about a week now..she's still happy, cheerful and same normal appetite...just a little sad today...did anyone else go through this and have one dog catch it and the other one stay healthy?..
oh and PS the dog that caught it never had his shots.

and I know I should take her to the vet but I don't have any money to do so seeing as how yesterday's pet visit drained us until next month....so any advice that doesn't include "take her to the vet" would be nice..TIA.

To my understanding, when my dog got parvo that it was contagious for about a year or maybe it was 5, I can't quite remember how they explained it, but they told me not to bring any dogs around my house for a few years.

There's a chance she might not and there's a chance she might. I would keep up with the vaccines and then take her to the vet whenever you can, (I know that's not the advice you wanted, but lol)

Just watch her closely.

The area stays contagious for a while. If your dog gets parvo, PM me I know how to save them. Two of my dogs had it and neither passed.

yeah, I'm keeping a close eye on her and I've already bleached the yard and where she's sleeping so hopefully if she hasn't gotten it yet she won't catch it..I'm gonna keep bleaching the yard until I feel it's safe enough to stop..but I just hope she doesn't have it..she hasn't shown any signs and I keep thinking since they were together at all time up until he started getting tired and lethargic she should be showing signs by now if she had it..

I've heard Parvo can last 1 year if i was told correctly, and you're not suppose to bring any dogs around the area doesn't matter how much you bleach or clean it. My moms dog was at my house when he caught parvo and died when he went back to my moms house an day later buy my two dogs (had their shots and were a couple years old) went around the area and were fine. My boston terrier started pooping blood for like a day but before i got her to the vet she stopped and was fine.

The parvo itself is not what kills the dog. It's the dehydration caused by the vomiting and diarrhea and lack of eating and drinking. We bought big wide dosing syringes and alternated force feeding them gatorade and water to keep them hydrated every 15-20 minutes. (vets hospitalize dogs for parvo so that they are on fluids through an iv) Once they were less lethargic we started them on cottage cheese. It took a lot of time and energy and dedication but it works.

yeah, I have a bag of IV left and all the pills they sent him home with so if she gets sick I'm going to start her even sooner than he got...I just hope she doesn't get it..

I swear Gatorade/Powerade is the trick for the hydration.
