car accidents and car seats.

Is there a limit on the accident and replacing them?
I just got into a fender bender. I was going 2-4 MPH when I bumped into the guy. No damage to either of our cars, and my kids weren't with me. Do I still need to replace them or...? I'm not very clear on it.

I dont think I would for less than 5mph I know you're supposed to because the structural damage could be off but it seems like such a slow speed.

I don't think so. I got into a fender bender where neither cars' airbags went off and the cops who came to the scene (because the other car's passenger was a psycho) told me that the car seat should still be fine to use.

Depends on the seat. Some seats say they dont have to be in a minor accident (like britax). Some say in any kind of accident.

Even the things on my backseat didn't move. They were still in pace. I figured the same since I was going to slow.

I'm not sure the laws, can you ask the police or your insurance company, I think they will cover the replacement cost, usually at least.

I've heard if you can drive away from the accident the car seat is fine. (Not 100% on this though just what I've heard)

Yeh for just 2 miles an hour I would think it was fine, but you can usually ask any one at a fire department to look it over for you for stress signs.
