is this normal?

my 3 week old son sleeps basically all day. he'll sleep 2-3 hours at a time, and wake up for only 5-10 mins to eat. then he'll go right back to bed. during the night he'll be up for 2 hours though. he's up maybe 3 hours a day, and i've read he should be up for at least 6-8 hours daily.

does it sound like he's eating enough? (at least 5 dirty diapers a day) or sleeping too much?

Sounds like he is eating enough from the diapers. Maybe he is just bored? Do you interact with him a lot when he is awake?

yes. i bathe him, talk to him, put him in his swing, play with him on his floor toy, etc.

I would let him sleep then   Sounds like he is eating enough and you are doing things right. You can mention it at his next check up though just in case.
