Yea I get so defensive probably because I've been put down all my life and I always get like that when people put me down or say I dont do something that I do. /shrugs. It is one of my downfalls????

i agree with everyone next time he spills something have him clean it up and than make him go to bed. his ipad isnt related to the incident so how is that gonna teach him not to get into anything.

And yet this is ANOTHER assumption...

I live with my brother, 3 adults, my DS, 2 nephews, and my niece. The adults have their computers and the children (except the baby) have iPads. And that is only because if a 7 year old and two 5 y/o's had to share 1 iPad, they would always fight. Plus, if we go somewhere, it's not like they can all share it during the drive, they aren't entertained with the same things.

I rather him have an iPad, with a fantastic case, than my phone.

I don't mind punishing with something that isn't related. He doesn't see cleaning it up as a "punishment". I have him doing chores around the house to earn money to buy the Ajax that he wasted, after he does that he can play with his iPad.

Outside? I live in Ohio, just like you.. You realize sometimes its just not practical to go outside? My DD has an IPad & it was nice outside. We went for a walk & played with friends. What does having an IPad have to do with it?
