I think I may have made a snap judgment by agreeing with the fact that her kid has a IPad.

My 3 and 5 year olds are not responsible enough for a tablet yet and I don't expect them to be. They are little kids. I started them both out with a mobi go. then my daughter graduated to a Nintendo 3DS (ex husband gave her his used one to make sure she was gonna take care of it) I have a tablet that they play their learning games on while I'm supervising them. If you can afford to buy your kids a tablet of their own, Its your kids do what you want. In my opinion 5 is a little young i might buy my 5 year old one when she is 7 or 8. That's not to say that if I was able to afford it and my son was responsible enough i might buy him one at 5 or 6. It should depend on how
well the kid would take care of it and if you can afford it.

I think the part that feel insane to me is that it's 'THEIR" ipad. Everyone in the house has one? Why??? What a waste! Why can't all the family members share one? Apple admitted to using Chinese labor workers to create apple products. I dunno, it just feels silly to me when there are starving, homeless children, women, and men in the world.

Everyone in the house has one because we can afford them, I don't see the issue.

Yes see I understand the mechanics of it, but why? I just find it really unnecessary and wasteful. Like I said, wouldn't the money from one of those ipads be better used donated to a charity? Plus the workers Apple uses are really mistreated and abused.

So dont buy from them. Where and how I choose to spend my money is nobody's business except mine and my husbands. I donate plenty to charity year round doesnt mean I cant have nice things or give my kids nice things. The world will always have problems and poverty im not going to throw every extra penny I have into it.

It's just wasteful to the environment as well. The extra energy and material it takes to make all of those ipads. And do you really donate to charity? Because I have a feeling a lot of people say that to feel better about themselves.

Soooo wait people instead of spoiling themseleves or their children should feel guilty about other people's situations and instead donate to that? There are people starving in the United States. Not my problem!

With that being said anything that I can do to help I do. I donate to our local food pantry at the store so ehh.

I do any time I have money left over. Smurf my grandma begs me to go to the food pantry for myself, but the kids and I get by on what we have.

You get so defensive. We are all human beings, of course we should try to help each other as much as we possibly can.
