re: made up or Newer names

One of the girls I go to school with has a daughter named Aquanea.
Ew.

Both my girls names are on the unusual side. Jewell, my oldest was names for her grandmother a name dating back to the 1700's though I usually hear "It;s a stripper name" or "It's too childish". My youngest daughter name is Ayla, Aye-La, I named her after the main character in my favorite book series, Earths Children. Old or unique names aren't a bad thing in my book as long as they aren't really far out there. Some other names I like are Eden and Avagail.
