I'd like to know if my kid hit someone. so I could talk to her and make her appologies. if i see someone hit my kid i ask them to please not do that and if it happens again i tell their parent so they can deal with him/her

I agree.
Yes, it sucks when our child gets hit, or if they are the ones doing the hitting. However, if my kid did that to another, and I happened to be looking at my phone or something and didn't catch it, I do not have an issue with another parent telling her not to hit, so long as they aren't yelling it. (and then informing me of the behavior). There's a difference between telling another child not to hit, and disciplining them IMO. It isn't like they are making my kid sit in time-out.
I guess it's the preschool teacher in me....I'm so used to reminding other people's children that we use gentle hands, please use your words if something bothers you, etc. I've been in situations where one of my kid's has been hit or pushed in
front of me, and all I do is say "Please use gentle hands with...(Bayleigh or Caleb). Usually one reminder works because it's coming from a total stranger LOL. But out of courtesy, I would say something to the parent so they know about it, and that I'm not just a lunatic talking to random kid's
