I thought I was the only one that read in the shower...I love shower time!!!

Kind of, I don't lock the door but I do shut it. Hubby is always in the living room playing his video games so I go to our room to watch tv and be able to hear what I am watching. The kids are usually playing in their room or in the living room so hubby keeps an eye on them and all

I usually did it if I had an order to finish and she wouldn't leave me alone x-x Then I just shut the door and she'd play with her Daddy. Mostly she'd just sit in the room and color/paint/play.

I don't get showers by myself... she constantly tries to climb in with me...but I shower during the day while it's just us so I'd rather she stay in the bathroom with me anyway. One time before I jumped in the shower she went outside! She's a lot older now but gaw... still scary how you can't hear anything in the shower.

Then I see no problem with locking yourself in a room for alone time.

i wait until my daughter is sleep. shes 3 though, how old are your kids?

also im a stay at home mom and we play on homeschooling/are homeschooling and following a waldorf inspired education so we spend a lot of time together and mommy time doesnt start until Nika is either asleep, or is doing her free-play time or she is playing with the hubs. Everyone is different and no - one person is right. Do what works for you  

There's nothing wrong with it if someone is there to watch the kids. Which you've already mentioned the father is there lol. I have done it!
