even 2 weeks early and he is just growing really nicely. Thats awesome!   I remember when I went to the hospital and packed my son some clothes I packed too big because for some reason when i looked at 0-3 month clothes which is what I brought, I thought he would fit but hes my first so i really didnt know what to expect.. I only had 1 pair of pants that would fit him for 2 months.

i think ds was around 18 lbs and 50th for height at 6 months, he outgrew his infant seat at 18 months. He had a load of growth spurts after that and is still rf at 38 lbs and 42 inches.

My youngest is 19 weeks and at her 4 month check up she was 24 inches long and 15lb 1oz. Her carseat goes up to 35lbs though so she still has a little while to go.

There isn't really a height limit, more of a weight limit and it's close to 35-40lb.
OP, I use a Moby wrap but a woven is non stretchy and you can use it from birth until 3-4 years old. Most SSC (soft structure carriers, like the Ergo) you have to buy the infant inserts then take them out after they're so old/big. I'm a wrap gal though, I've tried ring sling and SSC and don't care for either.

The inserts are usually for newborns and premies or very small babies. Her baby is big enough to not need one.

My daughter is almost 5 months (the 4th) and I would still use the infant insert if we used our SSC. Just depends, some babies are smaller boned.

We have just been looking into this because our girls were getting close to the 29" height limit too. I actually just bought their next car seats because they were on sale, but when talking with the store staff they clarified that it mainly matters how long your baby's torso/head height is... as long as they are under 1" from the top of the seat they are fine to stay in the bucket. Mine have long legs so we still have time and plan to stay in them as long as possible for ease, especially during winter months.

That's why I said small babies. Hers sounds big enough for it. DD was big enough not tall but fat enough since 3 months to not use it.
