Why is honey..

Not good for babies?
It it just an allergen?


My mom just asked me, I feel like I read another reason before too, but I'm too lazy to Google it at the moment.

It's not pasteurized and botulism

sometimes honey can carry a bacteria that causes botulism. It can make anyone sick, but babies usually have a harder time fighting off the infection.

Their tummies cant digest it at all.

I read this in school, babies under a year can have severe digestive problems.

Botulism. Which I'm not exactly sure what that is lol but yea incase they get that.

I had a 3 huge tubs of fresh honey from someone we know with hives and I couldn't eat it because I was pregnant

THATS it!! LOL I couldnt think of it. It's fatal for any child under 1. It has something to do with digestion.

You can eat honey when your pregnant.

It's not automatically fatal for kids under 1 to eat honey.

No botulism is fatal not the honey, its if they get it they don't have the same ability to fight it off.

Exactly. The way you worded it it seemed like you were saying that anytime a baby under 1 has honey, they die
