That's BF's last name.   Rar.

It stinks, because a lot of the names I love actually sound pretty good with it-- but he hates them and all the names he like just sound like a cleaning product to me (with the last name haha)

Well, I had a boss named Mike Hunt, so ya never know.

My SIL calls my kids Booger Snot and Butt Munch. They think it's hilarious!

Ha! I actually know a girl called Tessa (Tess) and when she got married she took her husbands last name ... Stickle.

Tess. Stickle.

Evidently not, because dd's full fn and our last name go miserably together. It's kind of funny too, because my maiden name had a similarly awful rhythm and I swore I'd never do that. But I named her in a drug-induced state of being immediately post-labor and the name wouldn't get out of my head. So it is what it is. I hope she gets married someday and takes her spouse's last name.

Our last name is Bernstein so when we were deciding on names, DH vetoed anything Biblical or Hebrew in origin because it sounded "too Jewish". Elijah is one of my favorite boy names and he was adamantly opposed to it.

I think Elliot is a better alternative to Elijah. IDK maybe it's just me, but's one of those names that seems really low class and dirty.

I like Elijah, but prefer Elias as an alternate.

Really? Lol that's weird, I've never heard anyone else say that before. I guess it's a good thing we had a girl then

ETA: Elias could work...I mainly just want to call him Eli as a nickname. I want to have one more baby and I hope it's a boy.

Maybe it's just in the places I've lived, but it seems to me, more often than not, the dirty poor kids are named Elijah.

When I'd go to pick my kids up at daycare, the kids in dirty clothes reeking of not having a bath and having snot stuck to their face were usually named Elijah.
At the play ground, I've had to talk to plenty of Elijah's moms about their kid throwing sand or being a brat at/to my kids.
It very well could just be my own personal encounter's w/ Elijah, but I associate it with bad parenting and being dirty.

Elias/Eli is the only boy name that we've agreed on liking so far.

I hate that's it's rising in popularity, though.

There's definitely plenty of names I would like if not for negative associations with people named that. Anyways, DH was afraid he'd be born wearing a yarmulke (I just had to look up how to spell that, lol).

Nah, he was mostly kidding. His dad is Jewish but he's not, so he just didn't want to stick our kid with a super-Jewish sounding name, I guess.
