So when you have the diaper bag thingy, you just throw the bag of diapers in the was on cold, then wash on hot am I right? Or everyone does it different? lol And is there not some sort of spray to spray on prefolds right after the change (befor you put in diaper bag)

You can use either a bucket or a wet bag to store them. Pee diapers i put straight into the bucket. Poop diapers you tip the poop into the toilet. You can use flushable liners so that you can tip that into the toilet and them put them into the bucket with the rest. Or you can you fleece liners or none at all, in which case you might need to use a diaper sprayer or tip a cup of water over them to get more poop off.

For washing i put them all in and do a cold rinse cycle.
Add a scoop of normal detergent (no fabric conditioner) on a hot wash. Another regular wash with no powder and that's it.

If there's no PUL in the wash (ie just microfibre and cotton/bamboo fitted diapers) then after the hot wash i'll add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the regular wash and then do a rinse when it's done.

I air dry inserts and pocket diapers but i machine dry fitted diapers otherwise they go kinda stiff and rough, the drier keeps them nice n soft.

it can be a little overwhelming at first. I would look at this OP and start here:

You might want to get a few of each to see what you prefer! Prefolds and covers save the most money and dont stink as bad.

I actually really love them with a snappi (no pins)....and you can get one size covers too!

I used unbleached indian cotton prefolds and PUL one size covers ( wolby bug or sweet pea) when he was smaller and then saved up to switch to fitteds when he outgrew those BUT you can trifold the prefolds and use them when she outgrows them too! Just makes a more bulky diaper. I use pockets at night and stuff with a trifolded prefold and a hemp insert. I wash every other day or every two days ...cold rinse (sometimes with baking soda) Hot wash with Ecos fre and clear and then a rinse with vinegar and a final rinse with nothin...hang dry everything PUL I have hard water....soft water may be more tolerant with a different detergent

I think I am going to go with the Hybrid Grovia's with the snap in soaker pads. They seem like the best for us. Plus they have disposable sticky liners for when we go out to the store shopping, which I would use just on my sat shopping trips. (so I wont have to carry around stinky soaker pads all day) lol

I can get 6 soaker pads and 2 covers for 59.99, and my mom is going to buy a box as well as her dad. so 18 soaker pads and 6 covers to start with. Well actually just the 1 box to start with and see if I like it, and if so then they are going to get a box each and I will most likely get another box, so a total of 8 covers and 24 soaker pads.

They look amazing. to me, and a good fit for us.

just beware that velcro often sticks to everything in the wash (that's what "hook and loop" means), so you might want to look into a snap option.

Some diapers have specific bits that the velcro gets stuck on whilst not in use, like BG.

yes, I know, but there are usually still a few that don't get stuck on quite right and end up sticking to places they shouldn't. it's just a good heads up. =D
