How might you feel?

I started watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix, recently.

In one of the episodes in the first season, a big guy at a fair takes a thirteen year old into the woods nearby....knocks her in the jaw and rapes her. Once she's found and the father discovers she had been raped he goes to the club and speaks to the leader (Clay) and asks for their help in finding the guy who did it, and for them to bring him to him(the father). They find him, take him into the woods and the father tells them to pull his pants and underwear down so he can castrate the rapist. He gets as close as grabbing the man's sac but just can't go through with it.

God forbid you were to ever go through such a nightmare as your child being raped or molested....do you think you would want to personally cause this person (the rapist, molester, what have you) bodily harm. Do you think you would have someone more able, do it for you? I know its hard to know just how you would feel in such a situation if it were real, but that episode got me thinking about it. Sure its fake, a television show..but it (rape and molestation) happens all of the time.

I have read women respond to posts on here saying things like "if I could get my hands on the sob that..." or "I'd probably kill them" in reference to someone causing their or someone else's child harm. Anyways, just curious to see what kind of responses I get from this.

I would go through the law, my child would need my support. Outside of prison

I would want to do it myself, but I wouldnt want to end up in jail so I would probably pay someone to do it for me as carefully as possible.

I would have a really hard time not harming someone who harmed my daughter. I hope I am never in the position to have to make the choice that I would NEVER want to make.
I guess I can understand

I doubt I'd be able to restrain myself from attacking them with a baseball bat. Or a chainsaw.

But to avoid going to prison I would try to let the authorities handle it and just hope the person got raped in prison and killed.  

i would have a hard time NOT hurting the person...but my daughter would need me. so i wouldn't do anything. i would let the law handle it.

There is a guy who works with DH who is nicknamed "crazy". Years and years ago his son who is a very quiet and nice boy was walking his girlfriend home, he was attacked at random by 4 boys who beat up the girlfriend and his son and also stabbed and slashed his son and left him to die. His son was in the hospital for a long time after that and during that time he just obsessed over finding the 4 boys and he did. He beat them up, stabbed, slashed them, ran over them in his car, just everything you can imagine one by one until he got every single one of them. He went to jail for it for a few years and isn't that long out so yes I think someone harming your child can make you capable of things you would never even imagine.

I would call him Dad of the Year lol

Holy smurf! Yeah I know it's in us...maybe not all of us. It just takes the right (well..wrong) thing to bring it to the surface.

Yes I think you're right. In that situation though I'm not sure if I would hint people down and try and seek revenge where it could put me in a situation of jail when my DS and other family need me more however faced with a do or die situation I would be capable of anything. For instance if someone broke into my house and was going to kill my DS, DH or myself in that very moment absolutely yes I would try and kill that person first.
