I'm in serious pain with my tooth.. it is now infected, my face, my ear, my jaw it all hurts... I've been up all night crying, throwing up, and shaking. I can't eat or drink anything because I can hardly open my mouth. Since I have Medicaid the only dentist that will see me has a long waiting list, a month. And they wont do an emergency visit. I can't take anymore tylenol, I've used orajel. I'm exhausted. Is there anything I can do? I'm going to the hospital tonight when I get off. This cannot be good for the baby

talk to your medical dr. or go to the er. they should be able to give you meds for the infection and pain until you can get in ot the dentist.

That sounds really bad. I would go to the hospital. You might need serious IV antibiotics.

Apply heat. I had this problem last winter and its one of the worst pains ever. IB profen works better than tylenol also... I would keep looking for an emergency dentist because tooth infections can get really serious..

Go find another dentist and pay out of pocket. An ER will cost you so much more and they won't be able to do a lot, pain meds and antibiotics. Most dentist emergency visits are about 100$ medicaid will cover your prescriptions. I hope feel better soon, it's agony!

If she has Medicaid, it should cover an ER visit...and they can give her antibiotics and stronger pain meds (like Vicodin or something) until she can get in to see the dentist. I have an abscess tooth and it was causing me a lot of pain during pregnancy, but my dentist didn't want to do a root canal while I was pregnant...so he gave me Amoxicillin, and it made it feel 100% better within a day.

Definitely go to the E.R. That happened to me the last time I was pregant. Tooth exploded on the inside and it needed a root canal.

Go to the ER. With DS3 I had a ton of dental work done and right over Christmas holiday I had a tooth abscess. It was the worst thing ever. For 3 days I didn't eat or sleep and constantly cried. Finally in the middle of the night I called my dad and begged him to take me to the ER. My dad showed up with a percocet for me and I took it on the way to the ER. The ER doc wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and percocet. He told me that percocet is safe in the cases where the good would outweigh the bad. Being pregnant (I was 6mos) and not being able to eat or sleep for 3 days was unhealthy. I needed some relief until after the 1st when the dentist opened. Within a day I was back to normal. So definitely get you the ER. If you are in that much pain it is probably an abscess and needs antibiotics.
