How old is the kid?! I mean it says on the box and usually on the seat itself the weight/height/age restrictions. I would just call/text her and tell her you have her best interest at heart. The seat she bought is actually a great one (ranked as a best bet by iihs) just not for a baby :/. Also, she should check for a Bargain Hunt or Essex near her. They have top brand, highly recommended seats for about half the cost. I've bought one like she has, a Graco Nautilus and an Evenflo Symphany for $190 which is the cost of one Nautilus.

Here you would get a 2500 dollar ticket, you may get jail time for neglect and failure to protect, and CAS (like cps) would be called and you would loose your child on the spot and have to fight through court to get them back. So yeah its very illegal

Ya, they do the same if your child is not of weight or height etc...and out of a booster seat too early, like if you get pulled over and they check, you will be smurfed for that. CAS will come and pick up your kids right there, or at the police station and put them into emergancy foster housing.

It rarely happens, unless you are unlucky to get stopped for whatever reason speeding etc...but it does happen.

Same here, my 4.5 yr old is. My 10 yr old has not been in a booster since she turned 8 yrs old. tho. She is too big,she would never fit. lol

My 5 year old step-daughter is too   She still has 17lbs and about 6" before she maxes out the seat and even then..I am really trying to figure out how to get the radian so she can stay in there longer.
DH and I are discussing putting her in a high back booster and I have anxiety attacks thinking about it

I agree, I've been in way to many car accidents in my life and it scares the crap out of me. But I know if she is proper restrained she will be fine, plus I don't want to take her to kindergarten in a 5 point
