I find it pathetic that one former addict is scrutinizing another trying to get clean.

How long have you been sober mama? I'm at 9 months, and its still hard as hell.

well I suppose that last part was a little uncalled for.....and for the people being smurfs, I never said the OP should quit cold turkey. If you'll read what I wrote, I wrote the opposite-to follow drs. orders and that she was doing the right thing by getting clean. but I also have respect for the other person who was able to quit-although she could have worded her response a little better to not come off so judgemental.

It makes me that much stronger knowing people care   I think that joining this group is going to be good for me   I was so nervous but your all so welcoming and I will definitley be on here daily. xoxox

Ehhhh my last relapse was jan of 2010... I had ppp, I just had baby *don't worry wasn't bf-ing*
But I had no clue wtf was going on in my head lol that was for maybe 5-6 weeks and detoxed went to the dr. And got back on my pez dispenser of meds -___________-

Before that I quit nov of 2008... was sober till that ^

After the 2010 relapse I've been clean... sooo now 3 years...

But the baby will be fine, I said on 1st page about them weening my son off fentanyl after his surgeries, but the thread kinda got shook up lol, and he did just fine... let me know if u need to talk...

Good luck! Follow dr orders, I can see how it would be easier on the baby once he/she is born to wean off any meds or drugs. I'm very proud of you that you are getting clean and worried about your child. It shows a lot of personal strength also to be able to talk about it with others here. I wish my sis-in-law had been more concerned with her pregnancy and willing like you. (not sure if you are religious or not and I would never want to upset you with this -but I will be praying for you and your unborn child) I wish you all the best!

attitude much? no one was attacking her for quitting cold turkey. she doesn't have the right to think she is better than OP because of it and definitely doesn't have the right to say smurf to her like "i wish you had more willpower." gtfo with that.

Thank you so much girl! It really means alot to me! There is such great,wonderful supportive people on this website,it amazes me. I was so scared of rude remarks ,I just wanted someone else's input. And I don't really have anyone but my son's and my mother and my mom know's and shes happy I'm getting the help I need but she'll never truely understand.Hopefully I get the hang of this website so I can figure out how to keep in touch with some of you ladies

great as it is that you are where you need to be and a gradual and I mean so gradual you wont notice it or be off the meds when giving birth could possibly be done but the withdrawel even from that can be stressful on you and baby subconciously enough to hurt you guys sadly and well thats what comes with this but you know that so try to prepare for once that baby is born good things can happen tho it could not hurt your baby at all having this in your system compared to your other choices its slim but always possible and even if not the struggle of it for your child will be ok cause there will be dr.s and you there with proper meds to help you both wean down and get the help to keep you safe its gonna be a hard road but I pray and hope that slim chances or not good things work out its so great tho that your wanting to do this for your baby already but since you know your triggers and such prepare for it when that baby comes cause its still gonna be crazy even for a normal momma afterwards so get what you need support help journal whatever you use that can help for that healthy transition and see what things you can get to help prepare for your baby to make that transition to cause your gonna be the rock and support for that baby when it comes home and that means its gonna be hard but you can do it

Good job OP! I wish my sister had the want to get herself clean. She has three kids and is an addict. Her children have now been in the foster care system for about 4 years, and just got adopted and are moving to a new city this week. It's awesome to read about everyone that has had the strength to get clean and better their lives!
