How do you keep yourself up during feedings?

posted 27th Jan
I find myself falling asleep while feeding the newb. I'm so tired I'm afraid I might drop him. How do you stay awake?

I always felt that way the first few weeks. Lol. It goes away. I would just cat nap with her.

I didn't lol I propped pillows and what not to make my arms stay in position and let LO go to town. I'd sleep like 20 minutes before waking up. Or just lay down and sleep

At first I sat in a semi uncomfortable position. Once he was a month or so old I learn how to feed him while laying on my side.

When LO was itty bitty, I walked around with him while he nursed, or I would kick SO until he woke up to keep me company...haha...now that LO is going on 20 pounds and sometimes wiggles, I don't let myself get comfortable enough in the chair to fall asleep.

Quite frankly I would prop myself up with pillows and fall asleep. I knew I wouldn't drop him because even when I relaxed he stayed in the same position. Propping myself up just so was like an art form but it allowed me to sleep a little while he nursed and slept. I also learned to feed him while co-sleeping which was, quite frankly, a godsend. I understand co-sleeping isn't for everyone though.

I'm a light sleeper around him so literally as my arms relaxed I instantly woke up.

I coslept with DD and just nursed while I slept. But it was just her and I back then. I'm terrified to do it with DH in the bed.

I can't even have him in the same room I sleep so lightly with him there. Even over the monitor I wake up with his breathing or the sound of him moving lol
