Blood coming from my sons nipple...

I noticed today that he had a bit of blood over his nipple on his white onsie. Now it seems a little red in the center. He also has bumps on his legs and on his neck, not sure if this is related at all. But anyway why is he having blood leak from his nipple?! Has anyone else has this issue? If so what did their pedi say about it? My son is also 12 months old and hasn't been breastfed since he was 3 months. I was trying to find things online about it but all I could find was that is was hormone related due to breastfeeding..?

Please help, i'm extremely worried.

I suggest calling his Dr asap. I hope its nothing serious.

What formula is he on? Any soy?

because it happened tonight! And his office doesn't have an on call pedi to take calls. And no he isn't on any formula, he is on regular milk a month now.

it was a tiny droplet. And he has no fever. he as acted perfectly fine all day. I cant tell if the bumps are just from irritated skin or possibly a heat rash. Also the babies in the family have a tendency to have bad skin, with eczema problems so it could also be that. I just don't want to go ER crazy.

A bit of blood is not a large amount. It sounds like a drop of blood.

It was litterally like 3 little tiny droplets of blood. When I said bit I didnt think someone would picture a soaked onsie. It was just enough to notice on a white onsie. But I did find this article http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/117/4/e814.full
If it happens again tomorrow I think I may take him to the ER but if not then I will make him an appointment with his pedi just to be safe. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this with their child and what the doc said if they did.

Defensive much? I responded once to your response to me and i said sometging in the first place because you made it seem like she was back tracking on her OP when she clarified how much he bled.
