Ya, you can. They messed up the engraving for my ring so they took it off and then re-did it.

yes i had it done on my dds bracelet a family member got us a bracelet with done other kids name engraved on it and i just took it to a shop where they kinda like buffed it out and it was like new then i engraved her name in it instead

She just told me that we could still use them, even though they were engraved with their names/date. When DH saw me crying, and I told him, he started yelling at her and she hung up. She hasn't called back and I really don't care what she has to say right now. I need time to cool off before I talk to her about it again.

I don't think true etching can be removed from glass, because it is done with acid or sandblasting, which removes glass. So the only way to "remove" etching is either put the glass back (not really possible) or remove glass from around the etching to re-smooth the surface (possible but takes a lot of work and the right materials).
Still, you should call around. There may be a window and glass company that is able to do it. Good luck mama.
