Eye stye relief?

posted 26th Jan
Anyone have any effective home remedies for eye styes? I applied a warm compress, and I'm going to apply a tea bag. I also bought the eye stye drops. What has worked for you? I'm willing to try almost anything!

Really warm water on a wash cloth on the stye for a few minutes a couple of times a day is all I've ever had to do. it takes care of it for me.

You wouldn't happen to have any breastmilk lying around in the freezer or anything would you? Breastmilk directly in the eye is supposed to help with those ailments.

Nope. I haven't breastfed in nearly 2 years. I tried breastmilk the last time I had a stye and it made it worse. It turned to pink eye!

Hmm maybe ask a friend? Though I don't know how someone would feel about lending their ring for you to rub on your eye lol. My mum used to do that to us when we were kids and it seemed to work.

Maybe rub some breastmilk on it if you have any, but I'm guessing you being 13 weeks you are probably too early to have any of that yet...

Yeah, my eye swelled shut. I don't think the breastmilk actually caused the pink eye, but it didn't help either.

I don't have any potatoes, but I can pick some up from the store tomorrow. Any specific kind?

Nope but they usually make styes go away. It always worked for my sister, she'd get them all the time when we were younger

I'll try it! I have a tea bag attached to my head with a headband right now. I look like a pirate, lol.

Lol I've never heard of using tea bags. Hope it works for you! I've never had a stye before *knocks on wood* but I've heard they're pretty uncomfortable. Good luck!
