I'd lie. Honey, you need to do whatever you can to get some insulin ASAP. You could go into a coma or worse. Hurry your ass up and get some help.

I'm type 2. I've been hardly eating, and what I eat is almost completely carb/sugar free. I feel like complete smurf. My sugars haven't left the 300s in days but for not having any insulin, I'd say that's pretty damn good (though horrible at the same damn time). At my last check up I already had kidney damage, was spilling a ton of protein and my A1c was up. I was in the middle of trying to regain control until this happened.

it says this here for michigan medicaid:

An applicant's monthly income cannot exceed 185 percent of the current monthly federal poverty levels for newborns up to age one (11 months old). At the current federal poverty levels according to family size, 185 percent is: two family members-$2,267.79; three members-$2,856.71; four members-$3,445.63; five members-$4,034.54; six members-$4,623.46; seven members-$5,212.38: eight members-$5,801.29. Applicants may add $3,820 to their corresponding federal poverty guideline amount for each additional family member over eight people.

you guys are 3 members right? you should qualify...

yes 3 members. I don't know why we don't qualify. I can't get a hold of my caseworker, ever! I got a hold of her supervisor and told her that I can't ever get a hold of my caseworker and that she doesn't return my calls when I leave a voice mail and she just said "we are very busy and your call will be returned within the order it was received". Months later, no return call. This was before all of this even happened. It's like a broken record, every time.

My mom thinks they smurfed up... which I'm starting to believe as well.

SO and LO both have "transitional medicaid"... when they don't even need it nor did I apply for them. They both have Blue Care Network through SOs work. Yet under my name it says "denied"... I don't get it!

I had to use an online calculator because we use mmol over here ... If the calculator is right 300 is 16 which you are right isn't that bad considering you haven't had any insulin for 11 days. It's still high though and if you already have kidney damage it's really really not good to not be taking any insulin. How many times do you normally inject a day? ... Ugh I really feel for you right now hun. My SO is type 1 and I have seen how sick he can get from not taking enough insulin.

Can you come up with some money to get some short term before you can figure out insurance or medicaid? I'm not sure if you can do this over there but when my SO has run out of insulin before when the chemists were closed, he's gone to the hospital and they gave him a few vials for free to tide him over until he could get to the chemist.

Go there in person and if it can't be resolved there contact your legislators, serious. I had an issue with medicaid not going through for five months, by the time it went through I was almost six months pregnant I contacted my state legislator and complained, 3 days later it was processed and Im was insured.

Also if you can stomach it you could try eating some raw garlic it helps to bring your blood sugar down. SO does this and it's gross but he swears by it.

I can - but I know I wont get anywhere. Last time I went I ended up waiting 8 hours, then they closed and I still didn't get to see my caseworker and they told me to do it all online and I'd get faster results. I can't imagine having sit there that long now with a rambunctious 1 year old.

It really is gross and you have to eat it really quickly after cutting it to get the good stuff. He tries to eat it as often as he can because it's really good for you apparently. Once I had the flu and I felt like I was dying, so he cut some up and put it in a shot glass of water and made me down it. It was disgusting but I felt so much better just a little bit later.

I use raw garlic for everything, and it really does help, and after eating it so much lately throughout this season, I actually really love it and just put it on my food, lol. I thought it was gross at first but now I crave it.

I could never get used to it. Not raw, it burns too much (I don't mind cooked garlic). I normally cut it up into small pieces and sprinkle it over SO's dinner, he doesn't mind the taste anymore. He believes a big part of that the fact he doesn't have any complications from the diabetes so far is because of the garlic.
