What am I doing wrong?

I signed up for a cloth diaper lending service, they just sent me a bunch of diapers and inserts the other day. Today was the first time I tried them out on DD an no matter what she seems lo leak out of the diaper. I check/change her every two hours, I am pretty sure I have them set to her size. But she is still leaking, what am I doing wrong?

were they new? you have to prep them. or if they are used you might need to strip them

Were they brand new? If so you need to wash them 4-5 times before use. If they were pre-used, they might still need to be washed because they might have soap build-up from the previous user not washing them correctly.

They were used, and we already cleaned them the way the instructions said to.

What kind of diapers are they?? What brand, are they fitted or all-in-1, all-in-2??

i would give them a strip. cold rinse ( startign with clean diapers) and then a non soap hot wash/cold rinse. check the water, if yiou see bubbles they have soap build up. so keep rinsing till you see no bubbles. or do the rinse and then add tad of blue dawn to the wash,then rinse till you see no bubbles. there are a million and one ways to strip. those two are what i use

They are sunbaby...other than that I don't really know, lol. I am all new to this.

Yea I would do what Angela said. I don't know why I asked the brand and type, not like that matters at all, I'm loosing my mind today haha.

hope it works. also you may have to take a tooth brush or something with a little soao and scrub the lining on the inside of the cover ( the part that touches baby). some one may have used non safe diaper cream. but most of the time you can see that on the liner.

Little bit off of OP's topic but shoot I didn't even think about checking if the diaper rash cream I used earlier was okay.. Do you know if Triple paste is okay??

no that is not a sale cream. if you use it, use a liner. i use a baby wash cloth to cover my kids bum's if I have to use a cream. There are safe one's out there, but I use what ihave. lol coconut oil is a good one and it's CD safe!
