sharing with LOs

do you share stuff with you kid(s). like letting them take a bite off something or using yours spoon, or even drinking from your drink? are there ages you would and wouldn't? would gender matter?

I have to share my stuff, I don't mind it. He's my kid.

I share unless it's like alcohol, lol. And why would gender make any difference?

I don't see a reason not to or to even stop.

If we're sitting down at the table for a meal I will put some of my food on his plate to try it if he wants but for drinks and stuff if hes thirsty and wants to try whatever I'm having(alcohol not included) he can have a drink. He doesnt have to get a new utensil to try whatever I'm eating if he wants a bite either.

Gender doesnt matter at all. I'm worried if someone says it does.

But no I dont let my kids bite my food or share drinks etc...I think its nasty and yeah, I cant even finish something if my kids touch it or put their lips on it.

Yup i share with my 3 yr old son. We don't share bottled drinks though, eww to backwash. We shared a lot more when he was younger, because he wanted to and because he was breastfeeding frequently so i felt he was getting a good dose of antibodies and maybe protection from my yuck sharing germs lol.

I'll take a sip of my parents or siblings drink, so i probably wouldn't stop sharing with my son at any random age.

well i thought about naming this "swapping spit" but didn't want to be gross. lol. i won't do the pick up the paci, lick it clean and give it back (not just because things that hit the floor don't go in my mouth. i just meant a daughter drinking after her dad. i know ppl who find certain things inappropriate between a dad and daughter.

Yes I share with my 6 year old step daughter. I don't mind.

Yes, but they and I dont put our mouths in each others mouths. lol

As soon as they bite something I will not take a bite after, if they steal a drink from my cup, its now theirs. That goes for anyone. BD used to steal my smoke from the ashtray or whatever, it would become his. I dont do that.

I can stop thinking about what they previously had in their mouth before they put my drink or food in their mouth, it literly makes me gag, to even think about it.

i thought about putting that in too. i still kiss my dad on the lips and i'm 21. he's my dad and best friend so i think nothing about it. not sure if others would though. so i wouldn't think anything of DD doing that with DH.

i do, but not if either on of us is sick or has been sick recently.

and, yeah, i'm wondering about the gender thing too. why would that matter?
