SPD and epilepsy can be linked (since they're both neurological disorders). But if it were me (my son is ASD/SPD), I wouldn't do it. . Does he already receive OT? I'd ask them more about it.

Eta- what would he be looking for with the EEG? If he's been seizure free I don't think there's much point to it. I also don't believe an EEG would prove that the epilepsy is causing his sensory problems.

EEG's are scary. I wouldn't do it if he hasn't been having seizures. Bri had one done when she was 3 and 1/2 and she did okay.

Quoting Mama*AtoZ:" They don't give treatment for spd or adhd until kids are over 5 yrs old here. You have to pay privately ... [snip!] ... is stupid because i already know he doesn't have any. I'm confused and wondered if there is any possible benefit in doing it."

what is causing his seizures? do they know? my daughters are most likely caused by her chromosomal abnormality they cant say 100% but she has sensory issues, and behavior problems and learning disablities and a global development delay.

they give her EEGs every few months but she seizes every day multiple times. They are probably checking for brain abnormalities too . i would get it done. EEGs do more then just measure seizure activiy. it can tell you alot about their brain. only on a couple of my daughters EEGs did she show NO seizures but still had brain slowing and some other things wrong. its just to make sure its all good.

EEGs arent bad.. idk maybe its cuz ive done it so many times with my LO, she might cry at first but it doesnt last long and I can hold her and stuff.

I don't know, if it were me, I'd wait a bit longer to get it done. Bri wasn't hyperactive. She did have some sensory issues, but she outgrew a lot.

He'll probably do okay and I'll bet he enjoys seeing your brother after.
